Eucharist.God which satisfies.

Pope Francis celebrates feast of Corpus Christi outside Rome basilica

…He said the blessing over them, broke them,
and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.
They all ate and were satisfied….

GospelLK 9:11B-17

Jesus spoke to the crowds about the kingdom of God,
and he healed those who needed to be cured.
As the day was drawing to a close,
the Twelve approached him and said,
“Dismiss the crowd
so that they can go to the surrounding villages and farms
and find lodging and provisions;
for we are in a deserted place here.”
He said to them, “Give them some food yourselves.”
They replied, “Five loaves and two fish are all we have,
unless we ourselves go and buy food for all these people.”
Now the men there numbered about five thousand.
Then he said to his disciples,
“Have them sit down in groups of about fifty.”
They did so and made them all sit down.
Then taking the five loaves and the two fish,
and looking up to heaven,
he said the blessing over them, broke them,
and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.
They all ate and were satisfied.
And when the leftover fragments were picked up,
they filled twelve wicker baskets.

Bread used to be basic food for people.

Not any more. Coke. Chocolate. Cereal. Oatmeal. We don’t eat bread too much.

But analogy and symbolism God gives us in Eucharist is very clear:

As we cannot live without earthly food so

We won’t have supernatural life in us without him who is bread for our souls

And blood for our veins.

There is no true life in us without consuming Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

You may say that you receive Eucharist every week and nothing change in your

Iife. It was ok. It’s ok. Nothing awesome. You don’t see difference.

The life God offers us needs to be nourished, taken care of, we need to cooperate with this life to let it take possession of our hearts and become part of us:

Without sincere and real prayer on daily base, without sacrament of reconciliation, without forgiving those who sinned against you without being open on Gods will ..

Without all these small things that we so often overlook..

The life of grace in us is like seed who felt on rocky ground…it cannot spread roots.. It cannot grow..

Eucharist is what makes us Catholics. Without Eucharist there is no need for Catholic Church.

We as members of Christ do what he told us to do in remembrance of him.

Everything else is addition and result, consequence of Eucharist.

We are members and shares of New Covenant Jesus gave us.

Eucharist is a New Covenant

You are baptized so you can receive Eucharist.

You go to confession so you can receive reconciliation and receive Eucharist

You are conformed so you can proclaim to the world that Jesus gives himself for us and to us in Eucharist

You got married so as a family you may come to Gods table

I’m ordained priest to bring Eucharist to you.

In today gospel Jesus feeds thousands with five loaves and two fish.

Those people were waiting for Jesus to feed them. They waited and they were satisfied.

Very often we don’t wait enough. We don’t have patience and faith to wait.

We don’t like wait for anything. Everything has to be instant. Now. Now.

God you have to so something now. I cannot wait. I need to be healed now. I need to be consoled now. I need money now.

I think that we are walking hungry in our souls and hearts, we are not being satisfied because in most situations we don’t wait enough

Come earlier before mass. Come for adoration.

Find quiet time in your home to be before God one by one and with your spouse and children.

Give God more time to satisfy your needs

To satisfy you with his presence
