Cheat Sheet from our Savior. Christ the King Homily

Jesus offers us today cheat sheet for our salvation

He makes it as clear as it can be

It’s not too much about 10 commandments, rules, not doing shopping on Sunday,

Being tax collector, repenting for sins etc

What does he says?

I was hungry and you gave me food

I was thirsty and you gave me drink

A stranger and you welcomed me

Naked and you clothed me

Ile and you cared for me

In prison and you visited me
If we would just focus on these 7 frazes world would be really a different, much better place

But we don’t

And we all have very valid excuses why we don’t focus enough

We have own families, children to be raised, billed to be paid, jobs to be done, meetings we need attend

We could say:

Jesus, just give me few more hours every week and I will do it for you.

I will feed hungry, welcome stranger. Cloth the naked, visit those in prison

Just give me those few more hours!!’…

I was praying to find answer for this dilemma, clue where to go, where to look for help.

What I’m finding is this:

The Sunday.

Jesus did 7 very important miracles on Sabbath trying to show his folks what does he wants from them:

Not rigoristic observing of the law,

But he wants this day be spend on helping others, mercy and love

Sabbath. Day of rest. But also day of restoration.

Day on which God in special way will bless our efforts to make this world better place. However, with all respect, but not for dogs, cats, pacific turtles. But better place for humans

Jews didn’t get it

And we don’t get it neither

Sunday is not only about going to the church, which we who are here do it well

It’s also about bringing help, love and care to our brothers and sisters who are in need

And here another question has to be raised up

How I can do it If on Sunday I’m as well busy as on other days of the week

This is matter of priorities

Who is my king. Who is my savior. Who will be my judge on the last day.

Sunday is that that day when God gives us few more hours to use them in a way he precisely disrobes
I was hungry and you gave me food

I was thirsty and you gave me drink

A stranger and you welcomed me

Naked and you clothed me

Illed and you cared for me

In prison and you visited me

Sunday is the day when most of us don’t need to work

however we still make ourselves very occupied and busy with good things

Jesus warned Jews many times about what will happen to them after his rejection

So he warns us

The choice belongs to us

To me and you

And I’m as guilty as you of not really taking care of it

Who is your king? Who is your savior ? Who will be your judge some day?

Let us ask for strength to do find good ways to respond for today gospel

Remember , we got cheat sheet. What we will do with it depends on us

Jesus Heals a Lame Man by the Pool of Bethesda

Jesus Drives Out an Evil Spirit

Jesus Heals Peter’s Mother-in-law

Jesus Heals a Man with a Deformed Hand

Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind

Jesus Heals a Crippled Woman

Jesus Heals a Man with Dropsy
